Unlike Western countries, Christmas celebrations in India is celebrated only some parts of the country. Since the mass majority are Hindus, only the places where Christians hold the majority of the population are celebrated. Other than midnight vigil masses in cathedrals and churches and a big feast the next day there is nothing much to write home about. In the regard of the population of Christians playing a key role in the celebration of Christmas in India, the state of Nagaland tops the list as it is the only state in the whole world with the highest number of baptist Christians. After visiting all the cities you will realise that this is indeed one of the best places to take part in the Christmas celebrations in India. The streets seem just something out of scene you would see in a movie. The whole state, cities and towns are lit up with parties and gatherings in every nook and corner of the place more than one month prior the actual Christmas day. It is the true season of joy and people bury all their grudges at least during this season and make peace and there is not a shred of negativity surrounding the air. The best food is served, the yummiest cakes are baked, the oldest wines are brought out and there is always some kind of meat roasting in the open fire.

Food plays as a strong trigger to emotions. One nib of something can strike a chord and send us decades back making us reminisce those times and take us back to that very moment. The main dishes mainly consist of a roasted turkey, roasted fish, prime ribs in thick sauce or if the cooking is done outdoors a whole lot kind of barbeque and steaks and maybe even a whole pig roasted.
