Uttarakhand Pre Medical Exam For Admission Into MBBS

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University is going to conduct the UPMT in the month of May 2016, the dates have not been declared yet. The medical entrance will be conducted for admission into MBBS and BDS for the academic session 2016-17. For candidates who have appeared for AIPMT, they can contest on the 15% of the total number of seats.

  • This exam can only be taken by Indian Nationals only
  • Domicile criteria must be fulfilled.
  • The age should be 17 years on or before the day of admission but not more than 25 years.
  • Special relation of 5 years granted to SC/ST/OBC on the upper age limit.
  • Must have passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as primary subjects.
  • Candidates appearing can apply but they should have passed the qualifying examination by the day of counselling. 
  • A uniform form for all courses would be available online.

  • It is a pen and paper based exam. Candidates will have to circle the OMR sheet for evaluation. Questions will be MCQ based.
  • Candidates can only use the black and blue pen for marking the OMR sheet. Scribbling on the selection will be taken as disqualified selection.
  • Pattern: Questions will be on Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 
  • The paper will be both in English and Hindi. 
  • All questions are compulsory

Exam Preparation Tips 

Study Environment: You must choose a very calm and composed environment for preparation. Complete focus should be given across all the subjects. Being a MCQ based exam, you must have complete control over all the subjects to give the correct answer.

Study Plan: You must not just plan the work but work the plan. You can best assess yourself, figure out the subject on which you have strong hold, give more time to those subjects where you are lagging behind, it will help you to build confidence and face the exam with a positive spirit.

Discussion: Make sure that you have taken some coaching and discussing with friends and family about the subjects. It will broaden your vision and help you to perform at par with the standards required. 

Rest: You must take proper sleep for stimulating the brain. Take proper 6-7 hours of sleep before the exam. Don’t go for burning the night fuel just before the day of the exam. Stay calm and composed and everything with be perfect.
